Iran Reports Attack on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Widespread Counterattacks.
Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed strikes across the region in retaliation for a large-scale and continuing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone close to the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any destruction is not yet known and the American officials has remained silent.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - which all house US military bases - reported they have shot down incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on Iran launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on areas linked to the the regime, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the regime.
Regional Fallout
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the UAE announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the missiles with notable success and destroyed a number of missiles," the statement continued.
The statement noted debris landed in a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and the death of one civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
