Two individuals are now facing charges following a luggage theft where a suspected pepper spray caused injuries at London's Heathrow Airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and charges for deploying a toxic agent, authorities have stated.

The charges follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their suitcases taken after exiting a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.

A toddler was one of the people hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were eventually allowed to go home.

The incident – described by police as was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – caused disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
